If you're a coffee home brewer you must have seen some version of:
“What’s Comandante 26 clicks like on 1Zpresso J-Max?”
I remember having the same problem when I got into home coffee brewing. When I first got a cheap Hario Mini Slim, I struggled because most recipes online referenced Comandante C40 clicks.
So many years later (and now owning a Comandante) So, I built a simple crowdsourced grinder conversion tool. It gives a rough estimate of how different grinders compare at various settings.
Here's how it works - I've mapped out recommended grind ranges from manufacturers and gathered some data shared across various coffee forums and wrote a simple algorithm that converts between different settings. The cool part is that anyone can submit feedback on whether a conversion worked for them, making future results (hopefully) more accurate.
A quick disclaimer: This isn’t an exact science, grinders have different burr geometry, steps, and quirks. But I wanted to create a starting point that improves over time.
